Another enhanced contract is being prepared
Historically, Tottenham operated with one of the more conservative and rigid wage structures in the Premier League “Big Six.”
They consistently had the lowest wage bill among the Big Six. For 2023-24, it was around £222m (well below Manchester City’s £413m).
Wages were a low percentage of revenue (e.g., ~42% in some reports), reflecting caution after stadium financing and a preference for younger/lower-earning players or performance-linked deals.
This drew criticism, including from former manager Ange Postecoglou, who noted that in terms of expenditure and wages, Spurs “are not a big club.”
