I personally think a lot of this is just media rubbish. He was only saying the other day how he was looking forward to playing under RDZ as he likes the style of football. However as the old saying goes there is no smoke without fire. I don’t think much of it is driven by him but more likely his agent. I’m hoping he stays and is integrated into the squad. I don’t think he can assume he’s going to walk into a premier league side be it us or Brighton at 18 years old. Yes the bundesliga is a good league and probably as close to the PL as you’ll find but it’s still not the same level overall. To insinuate he’s better than what we have is a little off the mark in my opinion. A lot of (not all of) last years defensive issues came down to poor tactics and coaching and a captain who clearly didn’t want to be there. When RDZ came in our defence improved significantly. Vuscovic is a talent for sure and looks like he’ll be a top player (also looked good last preseason) but if we were to put him in the starting 11 straight off the bat having never played in this league and he has a few bad games it could affect him adversely (he is only a kid at the end of the day). I think he needs developing steadily and a loan to a PL side would be ideal if he isn’t staying around the squad. If he’s adamant he wants to leave Spurs then what’s the point in keeping him when we can make a lot of money for a completely unproven player at PL level. I’m not saying I want him to go but just trying to see it from a different point of view.

I totally agree about the agent banging a drum. If Vusko gets a transfer he'll pocket millions.

Vusko may well become an outstanding player, but at the moment he isn't good enough. He didn't stand out v England, and he made a mistake for Kane's headed goal. He has a lot to learn and another loan makes sense.

I’ll say this. We sell this boy then the club and its owners can fuck off. I’m not having it. I’ll take my support elsewhere. I’ve had it to the back teeth watching this lot destroy any semblance of our FOOTBALL club.

I can get a season ticket at my local club for less than £300. Championship football it may be. Anything would be better that watch this lot drag us further down the shit hole that it’s in.

100% with you here. Just once I’d like someone at the top of the club to say: “That’s nice that Brighton and others want him. But guess what? He’s not for sale. Our goal is to get the best young players in the world, mix them with some experinced vets for development, and contend for trophies on several fronts every season for many years to come.”

There is a huge amount of bullshit being written about Vuscovic and most of it is a pack of lies. No doubt some of it being fuelled by Tony Bloom and his agent (Pini Zahavi) trying to make money at the boy's expense.

So it's refreshing to be able to quote the lad himself, humble and respectful.

“I don’t think much about it. I have really good teammates in the national team and the club, and it’s a pleasure to play with all of them."

“I’m focused on the World Cup at the moment, but my goal is to have a season at the club in which I’ll play where they want me, and we will see what happens in the coming days or weeks”

No shit-stirring, no agitating for a move or threatening to hand in a transfer request. It's all media driven lies.

We absolutely should not sell the boy at this juncture. If he is not going to play regularly next season, which he won't because of no European football, then a loan to a team like Brighton will be perfect for his development.

I must be thick because I’m missing something here. Brighton, whom are better than us in nearly every aspect of football atm, want Vuskovic to play in their 11. Yet somehow he’s not good enough for our 11?

Yes AL, but we just bought their star CB (Van Hecke) and Dunk is now 35, plus they just lost Webster also. So the circumstances are rather more nuanced than a cursory glance at league positions might suggest. In addition to which RDZ has a very specific skill set which he demands from his CB's, that Van Hecke and Senesi have proven they can deliver in the EPL, in spades.

Vuskovic on the other hand, in EPL terms, is a complete neophyte. I suspect he will take a season to adapt to the rigours of the Premier League and with no European football to aid his development RDZ does not have the luxury of breaking him in gradually. So a loan, to a team like Brighton, may well be the best way to ensure his development into the player we all hope he can become.

In any case, why would we want to strengthen a team ahead of us in the table? He can develop just fine here. He has all the skills of Senesi and Van Hecke and more. Just watch him play.

Exactly my point AL . It is absurd that he would be regarded first team untouchable at Brighton , but only a possible for us . Utter bullshit .........................

I don’t understand any of this. Vuskovic was player of the season for the 1H in the Bundesliga, arguably the second best league in the world. Not young player of the season but overall player.

He is an immediate upgrade on Romero. Play him in a back 3 like Croatia are doing with the 2 Dutch lads either side or move VDV to LB or wingback. We still have Senesi and Danso as more than capable backups. Sell Romero and use the proceeds to buy a real winger.

It’s not rocket science here.

Brighton are experts in buying a young player and selling on for a massive profit, selling in a huge part of their income and business strategy. So if they value Vuskovic at £45M it’s clear they think he’ll be worth £100M within a couple of years, and judging by their track record, they’re probably right. So don’t sell, do what a smart club would do, give the boy a new contract with a £100M release clause and loan him to Brighton for one season with a recall clause.

We need to keep this player. If we need money, sell VDV instead.
