Whether you like it or not, football is a business. Levy saw that, but unfortunately he didn't realise we were a 'football' club too. Solomon, Spence and Romero may well be their own men, but that does not mean anything when a contract ties them to the club, otherwise Rodri would be already at Barcelona for the £35m that was first offered. Letting players go for under market value is not smart, whether they want out of the club or not. I wanted Doherty out of the club, but not by cancelling his contract!
Now, if in 2 years time we are sitting pretty amongst the 'big boys', these transfers will mean very little, but money is money. £10m each more for those 3 players mentioned and £10m less for both Tonali and Fernades is £50m. That is better than zero, no?
The real question is: do we have any actual scouts to sign emerging players or does Lange get calls from clubs looking to unload their detrtitus and we proceed to bid against ourselves?
Someone like Said at Motherwell would be a great attacking signing for probably less than 10m quid for example.
It is truly shocking how incompetent these people running the club are.
We probably have the same scouts who scouted Jack Clarke and Clinton Njie. I'd rather we don't sign any emerging players until the scouting department is sorted out because the one's on the payroll will fuck it up.
It must nice to be the nepo Lewis kids and never have to work for a living. Or kiss asses like Dumb and Dumber because they wouldn’t last a day at a publicly traded company.
Personal terms agreed, I'm reading. He has quality, so wold be a good signing. The Savinho signing worries me, though. If we didn't have so many fragile forward players, the Brazilian would probably an unnecessary signing. I think Odebert has potential but he's out for an eternity.
The question I would ask is,why are we usually the only club in for the players we are linked with?
I am prepared to give RDZ the benefit of the doubt regarding an out and out no.9,but we appear not be be advanced in any demand for the players he prefers. One week to go doesn't allow much time for bedding in even with PL experience.

Romero is out the door too for £34m. Again, I think good business.

They all have degrees from Cambridge.

Do the scouts we employ actually watch any football or just use analytics or what exactly do they do?
Didn’t the club say that they would be far more data driven in the market.Well we are seeing the results of that and it ain’t great.
They use the ol' dice roll, occasionally a fortune teller.

I see dead people ….
Strikers … we need bloody strikers. Tell me we haven’t changed without telling me
How long does it take to “prepare” a fucking bid? It seems to have taken a year to this point…
