Tel isn’t the finished article, but, he is only 21, will improve if he wants to. My question is his hunger. If he was really hungry, then he could be a very good player.

The thing I liked about Tels goal was the power he showed to burst up the pitch and brush past defenders. He's a strong lad and hopefully the goal is turning point for him and the win is a turning point for the team. However we DESPERATELY need a striker. The overall performance was good but if we are being honest we didnt look like scoring until the OG.

Carrick, the dead man walking, although it’s not all his fault.

Yep, like it wasn’t Conte or Poch or Mourinho’s fault.

Ineos seem to be adopting the Levy book of brand destruction with their management of Utd.It’s not going to end well.

A few things I’m going to say…..

I said when all were losing their heads that Xmas was the time to judge manager and players alike. There have been the early signs of positive change for a few games now.

What I saw yesterday reinforces my view that we are indeed improving. Yesterday’s win will be a massive confidence boost for the whole club. Confidence's and success go hand in hand.

Tel: I’m not getting carried away . Up to the goal he was marginal. Our attacks from that left hand side pretty much broke down when he had the ball. Credit where it’s due though. He created and took the goal really well.

Upcoming games : We can really kick on here. These next three games are more than winnable and if we have turned the corner then I expect 9 points nothing less.

MOTD. I watched the highlights to see how they’d edit the game. I’ve said it many times. The BBC don’t like Spurs. That edit made it look like Chelsea had the best chances and were unlucky to lose. Completely at odds to the game I’d watched 5 hours earlier.

Finally. How Palmer stayed on the pitch after his reaction to the handball just shows VAR isn’t worth a light. That’s a sending off offence right there.

Onward & upwards

I’m surprised MOTD has listed for so long. The short highlights have always been skewed to a set agenda and are far too limited to represent a match realistically in any way.The fact that the discussion about the game exceeds the highlight in time tells you everything. No amount of changing the format with woke box ticking presenters will save the programme from eventual cancellation..

Yes I saw that BBC edit, and it was drivel. You’d think they battered us and we won it on the counter. We had 70% possession.

Disgraceful really the bias.

It’s good to see we are t the premier league’s joke club anymore. Dr Tottenham and all that. If you want that vibe, head to Old Trafford

In spite of his goal yesterday Tel is not the finished article, which I would suggest leaves a vacancy on the LW.Bearing in mind Brighton’s excellent start to the season and Mitoma’s absence due to injury,I wonder whether RDZ might make a bit for the Japanese winger in January,a player he knows well.He would bring pace, the ability to beat a man ,goals and crosses, all of which Tel does not provide nearly often enough.Let’s see.

Tel stepped up ..who is he supposed to cross to. I thought he was ok not brilliant , for me competition for places and rotation is something Spurs have needed for decades. ( Shame about a striker ). Long may it continue….

Competition for places is great, but I wonder whether it is a concept for young modern players. As you say we are desperate for a proven striker, but although he is still young Tel has a lot to learn. For the majority of the match he didn’t know what to do with the ball when in possession, perhaps with a real striker to hit he might be more productive. He has time to learn and be coached.
