"He Thinks He's an Elite Manager!" Simon Jordan Slams Ange Postecoglou amid Scotland Job Links
Ange Postecoglou has strong ties to Scottish football from his successful Celtic spell, where he collected multiple trophies, including stopping Rangers’ dominance, but he’s been out of work since leaving Nottingham Forest and has been doing punditry on ITV during the World Cup.
Steve Clarke looked frankly heartbroken after his final game, and the post-match interview divided opinion. In a lengthy open letter, he told fans:
“The most emotional part of this goodbye is for my players, without whom we wouldn’t have had any of the memories that we’ve accumulated from 2019 until now.
They deserve all the praise and adulation that they receive and it was truly an honour to be called their gaffer. Thanks for having me and good luck to my successor.”
The gaffer described it as the right time for fresh ideas after reflecting on the tournament. In an emotional open letter to the Tartan Army and a farewell interview, he expressed pride in ending Scotland’s long absence from major tournaments and reconnecting the team with fans, but acknowledged one win across three tournaments wasn’t enough for the next step.
The SFA now needs a successor ahead of the Nations League in September 2026. Early names floated include David Moyes, with Ange Postecoglou also linked (though this is widely seen as unlikely).
Some Scottish fans, and notably Celtic supporters, started “CHANGE: The Campaign for Ange Postecoglou” on Reddit and elsewhere, seeing him as a high-upside option who knows the country. Bless, em.
He thinks he’s an elite manager!” was Jordan’s core point: In Ange’s own mind, he’s a top-tier boss who’s competed in the Premier League and won the Europa League with Spurs. Which many will agree with.
Managing Scotland, one has to bear in mind, is a part-time international role with limited resources and wouldn’t appeal unless he takes a big pay cut “for the love of it.” Jordan calls it an “interesting phenomenon” but basically rules it out.
Most analysts agree with Jordan
Ange’s profile points to club jobs in Europe or elsewhere rather than international management in Scotland. His stock is still decent after trophies at Celtic and a Europa League win, despite later struggles. His Nottingham Forest exit was embarrassing and undermines Ange’s own suggestion that he threw the league at Tottenham to focus on the Europa tournament.

Steve Clarke -- an intelligent, honest , patriotic , sincere , robust and sympathetic football manager .
Ange Postecoglou , fraud , charlatan , con merchant - wanker .
Dont seem the obvious successor...............

Put simply this charlatan didn’t win a single game in the CL with Celtic. They. Celtic , have a far better squad overall than the squad of Scottish players currently on their way home from the WC.
I said in the previous blog. He’s a blagger. A good one. He’s not elite. Never has been. Never will be. We all know someone like him. Probably in the workplace. If he was genuinely any good he’d be in work managing. Not giving meaningless drivel
as a pundit. Emma Hayes makes more sense.
