I know Ange hasn’t been a bona fide disaster, but unless the midfield is gifted a big, powerful, oven-ready character, and a similar chap is slotted in upfront, this cycle of treading water will continue.
Progress? Perhaps so, but nothing tangible as yet, and securing that invisible fourth-place trophy does not count.
