More personal terms agreed as Tottenham appear not to be messing about this time
There is a more buoyant mood around Tottenham as fans are beginning to feel that the owners are doing more to address issues on the pitch than they previously have.
Matteo Moretto again brings us news of personal terms having been agreed with Mateus Fernandes. West Ham, now relegated, had signed Fernandes from Southampton for over £40m in August 2025.
The East End side is thought to be demanding a club-record £80-85 million fee for the player.
A recent £90m injection from shareholders strengthens their position, but The Hammers are obviously in a world of pain, and are looking to sell to the highest bidder.
Reports indicate positive talks with West Ham, a willingness to meet or approach the full asking price, and optimism about agreeing a deal.
Fernandes is one of their top midfield targets alongside Sandro Tonali from Newcastle, which Fabrizio has notably insisted, to be a separate, live deal.
Moretto, has had a good window thus far, and this indicates Spurs have reached a verbal agreement on personal terms, with the player open to the move. Matteo Moretto is a well-known Italian football journalist and transfer expert. He works primarily with Relevo and has a strong track record covering La Liga, Premier League, and Serie A moves. He previously collaborated with Sky Italia and Gianluca Di Marzio.
Manchester United had talks and, even according to some reports, agreed personal terms, but they’re more cautious about overpaying. As I mentioned recently, the money they still owe on transfers is not inconsiderable.

Sorry chaps, heat is getting to the iMac, original post lost
He is a decent player and is clearly who DZ wants, but I am struggling to get my noggin around the price tag. I know that valuations of all players are crazy but £80mill, double what Spammers paid for him less than a year ago is simply bonkers
