My view is that Spurs could do a lot worse than going all in on Nico Paz
Tottenham previously showed strong interest in 2025, with multiple reports of bids; the less-than-magic number was thought to be €40 million, which was summarily rejected.
A much-enhanced offer of up to €70 million in a package which included add-ons was also turned down.
Paz and Como wanted him to stay for development, and Real’s buy-back clauses complicated any sale - this was believed to be one whereby Real would get a cut, and they could reclaim him cheaply. Spurs walked away at that time.
Paz remains a logical profile for Spurs. He’s a creative attacking midfielder, with high upside. If Real forces a sale and Como can’t match the price, a Premier League move could reopen.
Real could still activate their buy-back, which is a paltry €9-10m, and either keep him or flip him. Paz has indicated he’d like another year at Como for both the minutes and the Champions League football.
Negotiations between Real Madrid and Como have broken down. Real want a straight sale for summer transfer spending; Como want a loan or percentage part-ownership deal. Real Madrid point to the Tottenham £70m bid from last summer as the benchmark; Como “can’t” meet that expectation due to financial rules of Serie A.
Real are referencing last summer’s Tottenham interest (a rejected €70m package bid) as the valuation benchmark. Como can’t realistically match or exceed that due to their financial constraints.
Sure, Tottenham have plenty of midfield options, but I would humbly suggest that very few are any good.
Back-to-back 17th-place finishes are not to be ignored. We aren’t out of it until we are out of it.

Would be great, but I don't think he's coming. We had the chance to sign him directly from Real before he went to Como when I first started raving about him. Como are in the CL next season and he has said he wants to stay despite the fact everyone took it for granted he would return to Real, myself included. It's likely he will stay there unless a big club that hasn't faded into obsurity can change his mind. We can rule out Spurs! Of course I hope I'm wrong, but maybe we should focus on more realistic targets. We can get Luciano Valente for around 40 mill, it's an absolute no-brainer. I think we can get Kang-in Lee cheaper than most would anticipate, but he would require significant wages. We can also get young striker Alvaro Rodriguez who also has a sell-on clause with Real. That deal would be much easier to pull off and I'm fairly confident he's just as talented as Nico Paz, if not a little more.
There's another talent from Argentina we should have a look at, Giovanni Baroni. He turns 18 in January so we would have to get him on a pre-contract. Current market value is 2.5 million euros and since he plays for a team that is not River or Boca I think we can get him on the cheap, less than 10 mill. One for the future and very similar to Nico Paz, also better than the Quintero twins who are both going to Arse. When he arrives in January we'll loan him out to Westerlo as we did with Vuskovic.
