Or Tottenham is moving into the CB wholesaling business
Tottenham Hotspur have placed Joel Ordóñez on their shortlist as they look to reinforce their backline in the summer window.
Internal discussions at the London club highlight Roberto De Zerbi’s previous interest in the Ecuadorian defender during his time at Marseille, which could play a role in Spurs’ pursuit. Still, the absence of European football and the financial muscle of rival clubs may complicate Tottenham’s chances of landing the player.
Ordóñez, currently at Club Brugge, is also firmly on Liverpool’s radar. Under new boss Andoni Iraola, the Reds are keen to bolster their defensive options, and scouting reports emphasise the centre-back’s physical presence and ability to defend in open spaces. Brugge are said to be seeking a fee in the region of €45 million.
