Spurs are bereft and down to core commandments.. love thy neighbour, because in truth that must only be the reason cuti is in the team and afforded moments to lightly polish the proverbial shit of a player he is
Yeah great. We drew. He talks as if we actually won the game. Based on the last 4 performances could we actually set the bar even lower.
My beef is this. Yet again, 45 minutes without a shot on goal. Yet more changes to the lineup. Both have to stop imo. Many years ago when I did my UEFA badge. One of the many things we had to do was collect stats. Or have someone do them for you. The list was endless. For the purpose of this blog. One of the stats you would collate would be crosses from both wings. Into the attacking third. How many balls from a central position into the attacking third. Are the strikers receiving the ball with their back to goal. Are they winning aerial duels. Are they losing their marker. Ultimately how many shots are there on goal and how many conversions.
This builds a picture of what you work on in your training sessions. If you get 10 crosses from either side in a game but no conversions. Two things you work on. More crosses and better finishing. This doesn’t include set pieces.
Hopefully you get the picture. So, looking at our last 4 games it would be paramount that more work was put into what we do in the final or attacking third.
From where I sit. And acknowledging our forwards aren’t very good. Doesn’t take away from the fact that our play errs more on the negative than the positive. We spend more time going sideways and backwards choosing to play a possession game vs putting our opponents on the back foot.
I’m somewhat surprised by TF he never struck me as a coach who didn’t prepare well unlike the last chancer. Without Romero a centre half let’s not forget. We could still be playing now and our forwards still won’t have scored.
Great points, but I don’t think we have the creativity in the midfield players at the moment to dominate the ball in the opposition half and create chances. Even then, for whom to stick away?
Yes, that’s definitely causing issues. Although it feels like he’s just trying to see how all the players together in different configurations. It’s as if he’s trying to get to know them and what they bring individually. But I agree, it’s not helping us in the short term.
This is why I think he’s been given a long-term remit to build a new team.
You say that. But it’s as obvious as the nose on your face that Bentacur and Paulina doesn’t work yet he persists on playing them as a central pair. With Gray none of us no what he’s actually capable of because he’s never been played in his natural position
Bentancur is the one I'd leave out, thing is I'm not sure how capable of playmaking or playing Box to box Gray is, otherwise it's all bit like-for-like.
Whatever the rights and wrongs of last nights controversial decision , it only highlights the fact that these indescretions go on now in every football match in the country , its a farce and something needs to be done .
Football is being disgraced now , amazing that it is being allowed , or worse , ignored .I suppose if we played with " a two " up front , Pallo and McManus would be having a field day - When will The Prem penalise this behaviour , no sides win while this shit goes on .
Romero determined not to lose to an over-hyped Brazilian. Shows what can be done when somebody gives 100%. Pity about the rest of them. Vicario trying to disrupt the game on 45mins showed how they have totally lost the plot.
Hercules and the shepherd boy comes to mind with Burn and Bentancur. The giant flattens the kid and its the kids fault. Bizarre.
We were poor for the first half hoofing the ball upfield to no-one ..however the grit and determination was there Kudus ran himself into the ground playing in both boxes ..we all know the squad is weak personally I thought it was smart bringing on fresh legs later as proved by our more threatening play.
The penalty “ not looking at the ball “ as I said last night AFC should have 9 goals chalked off and we should’ve had a pen , load of old tosh .
How does VAR work ..it is in league with the media ..to create stories if we had lost it would be all over the back pages possibly a mention on some front pages, all over Sky talksport The Sun , are they related hmmmm . VAR is bent …Dreadful at times we ploughed on and the away supporters were fantastic.
Christian Romero more please stop sulking and play ..VDV .not sho speshal anymore .
Totally agree regarding VAR. It's not about ensuring fair and correct decisions are made. It was brought in to provide more "entertainment" and drama. And with that comes some baffling and incorrect decisions that were meant to be eradicated.

A number of takeaways from that interview.

We don’t know because TF rarely plays the same players in consecutive games. No partnerships and understanding is formed.

Feels like he’s seen enough of Oderbert now, for example. Are he, Lange and Paratici just deciding who’s part of the plan and who isn’t at the moment?
A bit embarrassing for Desperate Dan Burn, felled by a smaller player. So much for his tough guy image!
