Djed Spence has been one of the players who became the talk of the tournament, certainly for a few games anyway; after all, he was playing for England.
10M upfront and 10M add-ons..seems incredibly cheap. Seems we like to buy high sell low, I’m sure Uncle Joe didn’t apply the same principles to his currency trading.
I can see both sides of the argument stay or go. Personally, he’s a club buy for no other reason than that I say sell.
He’s a bit of a square peg in a round hole. None of the managers since Tony Conte outed him as said club buy has he managed to hold down a regular place in the side. I still can’t fathom how he ever got an England call up. But then he’s not alone there.
Yeah he had an ok WC. Is that enough to keep him and see what happens. I don’t think it is. Let him be someone else’s problem.
I agree, and I don't think appearing at the World Cup has instantly made him into a different player or personality from what we already know of him. It will have made him more attractive to some buyers, but generally the bigger clubs will be passing on him. It's this that might compress his potential value...
Oh look Romero ..now has an injury ..he had an injury before he joined the Argentine squad and now he has one afterwards.after playing every game for his National Team..the cunt. Sue him for breach of contract if possible..
I'd easily take the 35 mill. He's fast, but that's about it. Zerbi ball will require someone better in possession and Porro is definitely the pick for that out of those two. I don't think Udogie has much to offer either. Personally I'd sell both and look for two new full backs who can thrive under Zerbi's high-volume passing style. Hugo Bueno and Jose Angel Carmona would both come at around the same price point or cheaper, and they're both better footballers than Spence and Udogie. Brighton paid only 12 mill for their new right back. As always, these players are out there if you know where to look.
Tuchel used him late in games to close down space, Djed has pace and mobility for sure so he fitted the bill for what the coach wanted to do.
Despite his WC berth, I'm not convinced he's a top half Premier League regular at right or left back. So perhaps 35-40m will be the ceiling, I'd cash in now on that...
One of Spence’s weaknesses is his inconsistency. He’ll have a good game( I’ve never seen him have a great game)and then he will have a poor game. They were all knocking one out over a decent tackle against I can’t remember who,too me that’s what a full back does.DZ got Robertson in with the intention of getting rid of Spence or Udogie, too be honest I don’t mind who.If I had too choose I would probably keep Spence he’s a bit more versatile and just above the mediocre line.
This Spence bollocks is driving me nuts . Is he an outstanding right or left back ??? NO is the answer . Is he a decent left or right winger ?? No again . Would he occupy a position within our now competitive midfield ?? I would be thinking..................NO !!!
His biggest plus is that he is an energetic flashy ball carrier , who threatens more than he delivers.
His stats will not say he's a g/a man , nor a defender in the elite bracket .
The retention of Spence is neither forward thinking or a retrograde step , but throw in his obvious influence in the dressing room [ good and bad ] and I am left wondering -- WTF is everybody discussing ??? He dont even appear to want to stay and he wont be missed -- wheres the fucking problem here ?? And be honest £30m to £50m ??? SELL SELL SELL !!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!
Udogie is a shit defender that is always injured ..Robertson cannot do 40 odd games a season ..oh I forgot about Ben Davies silly me ..there’s lovely..
I remember the fuss and awe over a certain pigeon who scored a magnificent volley for Brazil in a previous World Cup, but has done little since. Has Spence had an episode on the road to Damascas Boulevard? I doubt it.
He has the talent but not the character and his hot/cold temperament is a demonstration of his failure to live up to his potential.....how many of those do we see?
Spence does enough to stay near the top then drifts and then puts on a burst then drifts again.... he's not a winner and tho' it's possible that this WC or RDZ will kick him in the pants, I can see him sitting back on more wilting laurels.
Sell him now at peak value before he drifts again......
Just who has been good in this Spurs team ..of course the club being run by Dr Strangelove and the Yacht bound art set and the 19 coaches they have employed ( including caretakers ) has no impact on the players themselves…because they are professional..please stop.
Spurs has been a basket case for years ..Levy / the club have lied through their teeth to get players to sign .
Face it Spurs are shit..the league table proves it ..some money is being spent and we have 2 exciting signings one bog standard signing and a couple of free’s .
Who is buying Sarr…who is buying Romero..Richarlison ..etc etc ..The club is back to sell to buy ..other clubs know this …without more serious acquisitions I can’t seeing anyone decent wanting to be at Spurs not even the newbies if we are expected to compete with the injured the shit the broken upfront.
Or, get someone better than the pair of them. I thought we were spending big, not sticking with iffy players and injury prone players?! Fact is Spence is a right back by trade who's comfortable elsewhere, it's his pace and versatility that make him a useful tool in the right circumstances. I don't feel with Robertson, Udogie, Davies and Sousa all able to play at LB that he gets used there much this season.
Does he provide an option to Porro on the right? I guess so, will he start sulking if not played? I guess so. So many ifs and buts, I'd sell him now...
I think people are writing Robertson off a bit prematurely, constantly citing his age. You don't expend as much energy when you're a top player with experience, plus I think he'll illustrate just how average Spence and Udogie have been. Even if it's only for couple of seasons...
Yeah, he's worth more than what the Italians are saying. As you say, no need to rush him off, keep him if no-one meets close to our valuation or sell if they do. I wonder if the previous baggage is putting off English clubs from making a bid, although Everton are rumoured to be interested in him.
Other clubs know we are having a fire sale … It’s incredible that Porro has a decent World Cup ( he has been poor for Spurs ..crossing woeful defending disgraceful) and he is a hero. Spence has a good World Cup ..not perfect but good ..and people want to sell him rather than the Fluff and Tug Hotel resident Udogie who is a piss poor defender and no legs Robertson ..
Tottenham gimps upfront ..Maddison Kudus Kulu Odebert Xavi Solanke ….all mended to perfection by the outstanding medical team down Hotspur Way .
Merde Richarlison with that Sir or is one sticking with the Lampost Solanke..Servinyou Blanc..lovely with trout.
It looks like Lankshear is on his way to Middlesbrough for a fee which could reach 20M with add-ons.Another academy star gone.

Looks like Summerville is going to Saudi then. He’s obviously going for the money, his footballing ambitions must be pretty low.

25 mil in today’s market they can ram it , he is English and prem ready . Many teams here would pay that no problem and some.

With Udogie being injury prone I would think it's better to keep him.

And Robertson being 32 years ..competing on all domestic trophy fronts is a must . Top 4/5 will be difficult this season.
As for the Mr Injury Udogie ..I think he is a piss poor defender ..

Your dreaming ..we will see soon enough .,if we play 442 he might have a chance .
