Good young player who I had high hopes for but last season it just didn’t happen for him and he didn’t progress. Not really through any fault of his own. He’s been mismanaged by spurs through the managerial revolving door and the chaos that has been going on since Anges 2nd season. It does no good for a young players development having to play 4 different contrasting styles of football in 2 seasons when being relied upon to perform week in week out because of injuries. He was overplayed like Gray and probably saw more football than he should have in this time.

We now have to draw a line under the chaos of the last few years and move on a fresh. That means big changes. Sadly I think it means players like Bergvall and vuscovic will have to go if it means bringing players in to get us back to the upper echelons of the league. Unfortunately they joined us at the wrong time in our history and the stars weren’t aligned but there will be other players down the line and hopefully the club has learnt from this . RDZ did use young players at Brighton and I think he will here but right now he knows the club needs to be stabilised in or around top 6-8 before he can start using young players regularly. I wish Lucas well and think he’ll be a good player for someone in time.

This IS THE FKKIN PROBLEM!! We SHOULD NOT be entertaining this!! He is the FUTURE of this club, along with Archie G, Luca Williams Barnett. But… all people want to see is an influx of £100/150M Mercenaries on £250K a week!!

It is absolute madness, and folly. Play the boy… I guarantee he’ll put more of a shift in, than these mercs everyone is banging on about.

If he wants to play…. Loan him out. FFS Don’t sell him!!

Bergvall is an elegant player, but one of those players who is perhaps rather more style than substance. 1 goal in 50 appearances for us and 0 in 12 at international level is a bit of a red flag. He doesn't impose himself on a game like he should, he is more of a cameo player. Now whether we sell him or loan him out is dependent entirely on what we can get for him. Any package for around 50 mill, with a sell-on clause, and I would have no problem if we took the money.

When we played Atletico in the CL, under 'Tenpole', Archie Gray was the best player on the park. I have never seen Lucas dominate a game like that, when given a start, he somehow always seems to cut more of a peripheral figure. Of course he's still young and may development into a top player, but right now he is still a project and RDZ is not playing the long game, he wants to win now. Hence, if the boy genuinely wants to leave, it may be a case of 'take the money'.

I watched him for 15 minutes after he came on for Sweden against the Netherlands, he just wasn’t getting into the game, when the Swedish CB were looking for an option, he was hiding…he’s young, has some nice touches but what is he? 6, 8 or 10? Flog him and buy Wharton, he’s a couple of years older but makes more of an impact on games.

One of the problems with our recruitment is buying players and then playing them out of position. That results in said player getting pelters and ultimately less game time.

What ever happened to buying a player for a specific position with the view that occasionally he may play elsewhere. Further proof they don’t know what they’re doing.

Spurs recent signings of young players have not really set the toilet bowl alight.Gray,Bergvall,Sarr have been pretty average, mind you that was when we were shopping at the market and hoping for a gem to develop. All 3 are decent players but we need to be going up one or two levels in the transfer market.I would keep all 3 if we were in Europe, but with only league matches they won’t get much game time.Keep Gray, sell the other two.

Still have hopes for Gray ..I think in a better team with a better coach he will shine .

I hope this is just him and his agent wanting more money.

Bergvall certainly hasn't done anything in a Spurs shirt that has been exceptional. He is clearly going to be a good player but he should have spent the last 2 seasons out on loan for me. He has made quite a few major errors that led to goals and at 20 years old he would only be a bit part player for any top team in the EPL or any Ch Lg team in Europe worth their salt. I'd throw his transfer request in the bin, give him an improved contract, send him out on loan and integrate him in a season's time.

Odegaard was 22 when he went to Arsenal, so Bergvall has plenty of time to develop.

This lad has had three impactful performances for the club (at most) in as many years at the club.

He's scored one goal (think a header strangely enough?) in 50 appearances. He hasn't scored for Sweden in 12 appearances. He doesn't score. Does he create? No real evidence of that.

He's elegant on the ball. His hair won't look as good in two seasons time.

As long as we secure two midfielders of the quality we're being linked with...sell. All day. It'll be another two years before the lad is up to it in the Premier League.

I agree it's a pity that Lucas Bergvall wants out, but if his departure can be parlayed into a move for Tonali, Wharton, or Scott, then so be it. I think Archie Gray has the higher ceiling and to be honest last season Lucas's progress stalled. He is still a prospect in my eyes and not the finished article, so if we can get around 50 mill for him, with a sell-on fee, in part-exchange for an upgrade as a starter, like Tonali or Wharton, then I'm fine with that.

Absolutely agree. Along with Vuscovic and Mikey Moore, this is yet another sad example of how young talent has been mismanaged by Spurs. That said, Bergvall's progress was hampered by injury, most notably when he was forced to miss out on the Europa League final. We should make a tidy profit from a sale. We paid Djurgardens £5 million for him as I recall.

£8.5 mill (plus a potential £2.9 mill in add-ons). We would indeed still make a tidy profit however.

Given that the Magpies want 85 mil and Spurs are dicking about at 75 mil for Tonali I have serious doubts as to wether this deal will be done …Spurs are merely a flasher in the park..which means Bergvall stays..unless he is a makeweight for Delap.
